You’re experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. You’ve found our website and you can see that we are compassionate, experienced adoption lawyers. You have lots of questions about adoption and you’re not sure who to ask — but we seem like a good option. And we are. But at this point, some expectant moms worry that calling us or asking us to contact you means that you are committed to adoption. “If I call,” they wonder, “will I be pressured into making a decision?”
No
This is the simple answer. Everyone who calls or otherwise contacts Heimer Law has the opportunity to ask their questions about adoption. Since we specialize in adoption law and have worked with many, many individuals and families through their adoption journeys, we have forthright, honest answers for those questions.
There is no commitment, no obligation, and no pressure.
We understand
We know that women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy have difficult choices to make. We know that there is no single path that is right for everyone. We believe that having more information makes it easier to make a decision.
Under Arkansas adoption law, every mom who chooses adoption has 10 days after signing the consent form to change her mind. At that point, you are committed to adoption. No sooner.
That being said, there are advantages to making up your mind earlier. But nobody can or should pressure you to make a commitment any earlier. At Heimer Law, we believe in providing help and support, not pressure.
